GGC endeavors to
strive for the best in quality. In order to fulfill total
customer satisfaction the Assaying and Hallmarking division of GGC
acquired IS/ISO 9002 Quality System Certification from Bureau
of Indian Standards in year 2000, which was later upgraded to IS/ISO 9001:2000.
However in order to meet international norms for testing
laboratories, GGC has introduced ISO/IEC 17025:1999
requirements for its gold testing facility at C.G.Road,
Ahmedabad - India from November 2005 making it the first and
the the only BIS recognized Hallmarking Centre to have been
certified by NATIONAL ACCREDITATION BOARD FOR TESTING &
CALIBRATION LABORATORIES.
Purity of
metals has always been the primary concern of the company
which has made refining the basic service that is being
offered by us at Gujarat Gold Centre.
Along with refining services, we offer Assaying &
Hallmarking of Gold & Silver jewellery/artefacts from
independent facilities established at Ahmedabad as well as
Vadodara. M/S C.J.KANSARA, a sister unit
is recognized by the Reserve Bank of India
and India Government Mint for its mark CJK
on silver.
Only the BIS licensed manufacturers & retailers of
jewellery are provided the Assaying & Hallmarking of
Gold/Silver Jewellery as per the guidelines of the Bureau.
Today the mark
GGC on Gold/Silver has become synonymous with
a Hallmark of Quality.

Refining
GGC is the first private refinery in India to successfully
establish and operate an environment friendly gold refining
plant that has been developed with indigenous technology
to process carat gold jewellery scrap to a minimum guaranteed
purity of 999.0 fineness.
GGC has a capacity to refine approximately 20 kg/day
of jewellery scrap to a minimum purity of 999.0.The
refined Gold is delivered back to customer in form of fine
Gold bars/coins.

Assay
GGC
is well equipped with state of the art Gold
Assay
laboratory using XRF for preliminary & classic fire Assay
method for Gold testing.
GGC
meets national and international
standards both in terms of process as well as equipments
that are being used.
GGC
also has top class, highly
qualified and well-experienced staff for carrying out day
to day assaying for Gold / Gold Alloy. The Assay
laboratory participates in national as well as international proficiency
testing programmer to maintain its confidence in Assay work. |

The management and the functioning of the laboratory is
practiced in line with IS/ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/IEC 17025 Quality
systems standards.
Between 100 to 150 Gold Assay are carried out everyday.

Hallmarking
Gold jewellery and other articles satisfying Bureau
of Indian Standards guidelines for manufacture of Gold jewellery as per
IS-1417:1999,
are segregated into lots based on information provided by
the client. |

Few of the selected pieces are scraped from appropriate
locations based on design/manufacturing criteria. The scrapped gold is
then accurately weighed on precision balance (0.002mg
accuracy) and then undergo
fire assaying as per the required Indian standards specification
as per IS-1418:1999.
Once the fineness of the samples is found as per requirement,
the representative jewellery lot undergoes hallmarking.
The hallmarking of Gold jewellery is carried out by CNC Laser Marking
machine. Laser marking
is a non-impact method and does not cause sinking or bruising
damages.
