
In the year 1991, Gujarat Gold Centre was
established as a partnership firm, engaged in the field of
refining of scrap gold and manufacture of gold bars of 999.0
fineness on process charge basis with a vision of making it big in
the industry. Today GGC enjoys the status of one of the best known
Gold bar producer in bullion trade.
GGC was, in year 2000, recognized by Bureau of Indian
Standards as "ASSAYING & HALLMARKING CENTRE" for gold jewellery.
Besides being one of the first five Centers in the country, GGC was
first Assaying and Hallmarking Centre to introduce laser marking of
gold jewellry. So far more than 1.7
million pieces of jewellery have been hallmarked.
The gold assaying (testing) laboratory of GGC
is Accredited by NATIONAL ACCREDITATION BOARD FOR TESTING
& CALIBRATION LABORATORY (NABL) making GGC as one of
the first few BIS approved Assaying and Hallmarking Centre
in INDIA to get this

GGC is now recognized by Bureau of
Indian Standards for Assaying & Hallmarking Centre for Silver
Articles / Jewellery since January 2006, making it the first such
facility in India to get recognized by The Bureau.
From February 20, 2006, the Assaying & Hallmarking
Centre-Unit-II at Vadodara, INDIA has become operational.
